I feel this is too important a topic to hide as a comment in the other post.
I saw this article as it was on my Facebook feed. Interestingly, it's the only Facebook post I recall seeing from the Luxembourg Times that had the comments turned off on Facebook. Sometimes articles might do to save prejudicial information being shared due to a court case.
But the only rationale for turning off commenting this time is because the Luxembourg Times is heavily government funded, and it doesn't want to appear to criticise the hand that feeds it.
RTL Today hasn't published anything on this yet
Frustratingly, the Palestine protests are m0ving to Brussels this weekend so we can't make our voices heard locally.
Petition, perhaps

Not surprised though…
Update.
RTL has now covered it
Amid ongoing war in Gaza: CSSF approves Israeli bond sale for European market, drawing criticism from Irish government https://today.rtl.lu/news/luxembourg/a/2332959.html
It’s funny how western europe react when they’re finally faced with their own hypocrisy. That freedom and democracy argument is only used when it suits their political narrative.
Here you have the RTL article

The Lux Times article is factually wrong as there has been no Irish decision on the matter
Well if i know an article i am about to post will turn into a smear fest in the comments, i’d rather turn off comments too than having to manage / moderate the comments..
Freedom of press doesnt mean ” freedon to add your grain of salt to every post / statement” underneath that exact post. Feel free to share and discuss it, but the potential outrage is on your post then.
Return the hostages, Hamas surrender, and the war will be over. Yet no one protests for this to happen?
wasn’t Bettel to join France by recognising Palestine as a sovereign state?
Guys let’s be honest . Unemployment flies . Lux gov did what they do forever unboarding staff none else wants . See the porn industry in the past the bank secrecy . The country has been built in the concept give us business does not matter who you are
We turn off comments for articles about Israel or Gaza on Facebook cause they tend to get pretty abusive and we have a policy to remove abusive comments.
Facebook also adds certain restrictions to the page if we mention terms it thinks is terrorism related. We’ve had our page blocked in the past due to this.
So I’m the guy who put up the post and trust me, I have no agenda. I try to make the post sound as neutral as it could be. If people comment and I have to moderate, then it wouldn’t be unbiased.
