My local Tory councillor kept trying to tell me that they were all about “local issues”, not what was going on in Westminster.
Fair play to them, no matter how much I said Johnson, Sunak, Rees-Mogg, and the others were simply toxic and I could never vote for a party that supported those policies, the councillor kept trying to tell me I should be focusing on what the Tories could achieve locally.
I remain unswayed, hopefully the grass roots getting the message that change is needed will lead to MP’s realising how much of a state the government is in.
Which is hilarious as they dont stop being tories that supported him for years just because they are ashamed of him now that its a problem. Just scum from top to bottom really.
The Tory party is rotting from the head downwards. Grass roots members need to grow a spine and a sense of conscience or they’ll only have themselves to blame when the inevitable May elections bloodbath at the polls happens.
I’m going with the slogan “Liarbility” and a big picture of Boris.
My tory candidate came up on a Facebook ad. I told him I’d consider voting for him if he said “I don’t think Boris is fit to rule the country”
He said he condemned his actions…. but wouldn’t outright say that he wasn’t fit.
So I guess he can try and make it about local politics all he wants, but apparently he still thinks Boris should be in charge.
In his defence, I was lying, I’d not vote for him no matter what.
My Tory candidate did the same. No mention of Boris at all.
What pisses me off is she is bound to win because this area is so ridiculously partisan historically.
And here’s the kicker – I personally know the candidate. She’s about 23 years old and works in the local pub. She’s alright…always have a decent chat (I avoid politics in the pub like the plague) but what really annoys me is she has literally zero experience in either life or politics.
Compare her to the person running for Labour in this election, the difference is night and day. The Labour person has multiple degrees in things like arts, science and has worked in the house of commons, has a job helping people navigate the awful benefit system, and has consistently run for this councillor position for the last five years and lost every single time. And they will lose again, to someone who just runs for fun it seems. Its embarassing. Just a quick search of each of these candidates linked in profiles shows someone who is genuinely helping people and trying to make a change versus someone who is just rucking up to be shoehorned in because the electorate can only see red vs blue.
In Wandsworth the local Tory leaflets are also green
All controlled by Klaus Schwab anyway. Waste of time voting.
Imagine being such an awful human that even Tories are ashamed of you.
If one Boris is jailed for lying why in tarnation is the biggest lying Boris jailed not just left off a few leaflets.
Successive governments since Thatcher have sought to centralise power, making local authorities basically carry out central government policies. They can take his name off the leaflets and talk about “local issues” as much as they like, but the fingerprints of Johnson’s premiership are all over it.
I imagine half the Tory MPs are probably considering leaving their own names off for the next election
They sometimes leave their party off election leaflets, so this isn’t all that surprising.
So the dead are rising from their coffins, the public of the UK has risen! Only took them 14 bloody years to realise what is going on. The crazy thing is people will still vote for them.
This is now where you remind your Tory voting associates how much they love Boris Johnson over Corbyn. They will defend their position. They will paint themselves into a corner. They won’t be allowed to weasel themselves out of it if done daily.
Because if they won’t stand by their own choices, why should anyone else?
It’s clear what the Tories are planning to do:
• Keep Johnson in power until shortly before genera election
• Get rid of him, blaming him for all the bad things that have happened
• Rebrand to try and get power again under the guise of being different
They only have one chance of me even considering voting for them – get rid of the entire cabinet, install Tom Tugendhat as leader as he seems like the only remotely visible one who has a moral compass and ask him to make that community conservatism happen including an ecological stance because this is a green and pleasant land.
I saw this and thought it was time to check out my options for the 5th. My findings:
Labour – Doesn’t have a big presence in the community
Green – very passionate and does amazing things for the local environment
Conservative – candidate literally just retweeted all of the MP’s posts without making any attempt to promote himself.
Lib Dems – being very proactive and sharing his ideology with constructive arguments to back them up.
Not only that but the lib dems are calling out the local Tories keeping the party name very quiet while campaigning.
Then I came back and realised I was reading a Reddit post about exactly that! What a half assed attempt to remain in power.
The people who want to build back better, are the ones who created the virus and shut down the world economy.
Tories shouldn’t be allowed to run in elections at all. Repulsive betrayal of the people that it’s being permitted.
On the other hand, had Corbyn been in number 10 we would all be eating grass and watching immigrants take over our own houses by now .. Comrade .
Socialism has failed 100% of the times it was tried, millions died trying
Wasn’t the only reason they were keeping him on because of his amazing ability to win over the electorate?
Hell the Tory candidate for a different ward in the town I live in has removed all mention of the Conservatives. The leaflets and Facebook ads look like they’re for an independent candidate.
Are they actually hoping people will not know what party Boris belongs to?
This is why it puzzles me that Operation Save Big Dog was a thing.

He probably dreamed of being prime minister and wanting to be remembered…
And he definitely will be remembered, but probably as the worst, most corrupt, law breaking, dumb, prime minister the UK has ever had.
