During his today’s meeting with a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Secretariat and Director of the General Office of the Central Committee of the CPC, Cai Qi, in Beijing, President Aleksandr Lukashenko called China a true friend of Belarus, BelTA reports

“In the three decades of our co-operation, I cannot recall a single case when you treated our country with disrespect, did not support Belarus or responded unkindly to our requests. In short, you are true friends,” the Belarusian leader said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko hopes that the future direction of Belarusian-Chinese liaisons with an emphasis on industrial co-operation – which was determined at his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping – will bring very good results.

As noted by the Head of State, the events like today’s are usually accompanied by protocol words of gratitude for the reception, for the treatment of guests. “Meanwhile, at this moment, I want to sincerely thank you (it’s not about being diplomatic at all) from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done and are doing for Belarus in general and during this visit of mine and the delegation. As a great country and representative of a great civilisation, you do unimaginable things for your guests – not just for me, but for all the guests. There are more than three dozen of them [leaders of countries and heads of international organisations]. You do everything for them to leave China in a good mood and remain your friends forever,” the President stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that this is important for relations between states. However, in the case of co-operation with Belarus, something else is even more important. “We have managed to build a solid foundation for our relations. We have strong trade and economic relations, and we have no problems in politics or diplomacy. We always and everywhere support each other on international platforms. The friendliest and closest relations between the leaders of the two countries have been established,” the President noted.
