On August 28th, Latvian Radio broadcast live from Riga’s St. Peter’s Church as part of the Sacred Music Festival with a memorable concert marking the 90th birthday of legendary Estonian composer Arvo Pärt.

Specifically, the concert was titled “Pertam 90” (Pärt at 90), featuring the State Academic Choir “Latvija”, organist Kristīne Adamaite and percussionist Reinis Tomiņš. Conducting duties were taken by Arvo Pärt’s distinguished countryman Risto Jost.

The program included Arvo Pärt’s compositions for choir, organ and percussion:  Magnificat, De Profundis, Sieben Magnificat-Antiphonen, Pari Intervallo, Virgencita, Depo la Vittoria, Trivium, Ja ma kuulsin hääle…, Which Was the Son of 7.

After the concert are conversations with composer Jēkabs Jančevskis and singer Raimonds Bramanis.
