    “Dear friend, both I and the entire Russian delegation are pleased to meet once again with our Chinese friends and colleagues,” Putin told Xi, according to a video published by the Kremlin.

    “Our close communication reflects the strategic nature of Russia-China relations, which are at an unprecedentedly high level,” he added.

    “We were always together then, and we remain together now.”

    Xi said that “China-Russia relations have withstood the test of international changes”, adding that Beijing was willing to work with Moscow to “promote the construction of a more just and reasonable global governance system”.

    The Russian President joined 20 leaders in Tianjin, including his Chinese counterpart and Indian Prime Minister [Narendra Modi](https://inews.co.uk/topic/narendra-modi?srsltid=AfmBOorjb1I1L0p0gjxMhq6xMBpGTU0qFxEyZZ2CBgMYFisaq4YbRY_u&ico=in-line_link), to attend the largest-ever summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

  2. Vladimir Putin? The president of the only untariffed country in the world? I do not know if he needs Trump (though I agree that he needs India and China much more), but he definitely **has** Trump.

  5. The worst part is if Trump didn’t declare war literally on everyone, everywhere, all at once, his trade rebalancing would have worked so, so much better. The EU obviously has major problems with Russia, but also, China and the trade imbalance between them. India and China are wary of one another, rightfully.

    Trump could have focused first on China, rallied the world, and then later moved on. No one is going to run into the arms of China because they have already been pursuing policies in many areas as bad, if not worse, than what Trump is going after. Instead, what we’re going to see is a fracturing geopolitical order with multiple poles.

  6. USA got India involved in anti China coalitions like Quad and then trade embargoed it worse than anyone else, including China and Russia, 😆 . India will never ever trust US again.

  8. The Putin, Xi, Modi summit was created and made possible by Trump and his enablers.

    It highlights how Trumps political efforts have spectacularly backfired.
