Israeli troops have described the evacuation as inevitable as they advance towards Gaza City

Air strikes on Wednesday hit the neighborhoods of Abu Escandanda and Shik Radwan in Gaza City. Israel is ratcheting up pressure on the enclave’s largest city in the north. More than 1 million people are there, many having been displaced multiple times over the past 22 months of war. Our homes have been destroyed. We have lost our money. And our children have been deprived of education, life, food, and water. There is no clean drinking water. I don’t know where to go. Enough is enough. Have mercy on us. We’re exhausted. The Israeli army has not yet launched a full ground operation in the city, but considers the evacuation of the population inevitable. It released footage of its troops in nearby Jabalia and broadcast scenes of food distribution centers being built in the south of Gaza in anticipation of an influx of refugees from the north. The people of Gaza can come to this area daily and pick up aid, hopefully millions of meals a day for the people of Gaza without the threat of Hamas looting it. This is just a part of the humanitarian effort the IDF and Israel are doing in the Gaza Strip. But the UN and humanitarian organizations blame Israel for recent mass killings near other food distribution sites and say its approach to aid in Gaza is not to be trusted. I’m going

Israeli and US officials met in Washington on Wednesday to discuss post-war Gaza, as Israel’s military warned that evacuation of Gaza City was “inevitable” ahead of a new offensive. Anger mounted after a double strike on Gaza’s Nasser Hospital that killed 22, including journalists and medics, health officials said. Peter O’Brien reports.

  2. Israel's right-wing Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, has reportedly ordered the army chief of staff, Eyal Zamir, to "encircle" Gaza City, stating that anyone who does not flee "can either starve to death or surrender." This comes as Israeli forces advance further into the city as part of a plan to occupy the area and forcibly evict an estimated one million residents.
