Josh Hawley’s ‘huge win’ will be a big loss for clean energy — and ratepayers. It’s only been a few weeks since Trump and Missouri Republicans killed the Grain Belt Express transmission line, but it’s already clear rates will go up. It was predicted to save state ratepayers almost $18 billion.

  1. Yes, the Republican War on Energy is going to cost Americans hundreds of billions of dollars over the next several years. This specific project is just one tiny slice of the immense loss radical Republican ideology is causing. 

    It is particularly impactful in the red counties that were going to get all these extra jobs. 

    Yet another example of how Republican politicians hate Republican voters and have zero respect at all for them, and it’s baffling why Republican voters keep electing them. 

    These guys are literally stealing billions of dollars from the Republican voters of Missouri.  They’re making everyone in the state pay more for electricity, and eliminating thousands of jobs in red counties in Missouri. All to line some fossil fuel donors pockets. 

  2. Someone needs to have this reported all over Missouri and the other states it’s going through. These guys are costing us all billions. It’s been a ten year fight for this project to get going. I’m at the end of the line in Indiana and I’m pissed. They keep pushing data centers with no expanded energy supply.

  6. They have not clued into that the GOP are now doing everything they can to funnel wealth to the extractors.

    The world is pivoting away from carbon as the primary energy source for stupid things, like driving, or heating a house. They are far better methods, cheaper.

    It’s got, what, maybe 15 years before it really starts to crash.

    The Saudi’s know this, and so do the US oil barons. They are going to hold back the ocean in the USA to maximize their money. In 20 years the USA will remind people of what it was like travelling in southern italy in the 1980s. Backyards but western.

  8. So glad to hear Trump and his criminal gang are ruining the largest infrastructure project in the United States. Good thing we already have an infrastructure crisis across the United States. So glad to hear about the amazing progress we are making under Trump. By the end of his presidency we will be neanderthals again, how amazing, I can’t wait. Thanks Daddy!
