Longshot – place to rent for a few weeks in Bangor to help my mum revisit her hometown

My mum (81) is not doing well and would like to see her hometown (Bangor) again before she dies. (Pic of me and her before she took her latest downturn – please don’t criticize). She left Bangor in her 20s and met my dad on the third day of her “working holiday” in Canada… and the rest is history. (He passed shortly after their 51st anniversary.) So… here’s the thing. It’s thousands of pounds to get a month-long furnished rental. We don’t really have that kind of money. She has more days feeling unwell rather than well, so I figure if we stay for a month she might have a handful of “good” days so we can toodle around Bangor, and I’d work remotely. We’d really like a self-sufficient unit/home because she’s really bedridden on her “bad” days, and sometimes quite ill. Just for privacy when she’s having a tough time. I thought it couldn’t hurt to ask if anyone knows of anything out there that’s a bit more reasonable than 3 thousand-plus pounds for a month. Just for fun: she grew up at 44 Bryansburn Rd.
