I am absolutely certain that about 10 years ago Ritter Sport had a pistachio chocolate that did not sell in Ireland and disappeared after a couple of months. It was far better and cost, even with inflation in mind, a quarter of what this Dubai stuff is costing…..

Just bought this in Paris in the airport. My fault; dopes like me making them think it’s ok to price it as is.
It became popular in a year with a glut of low grade pistachio due to bad harvests. That stuff ended up in these bars and got wildly popular.
There isn’t the same volume of pistachio available so as a result it’s really expensive.
Support an Irish business with a cheaper but superior one.
I keep telling people we need to choose a supermarket chain which is deep gouging, and do a full boycott for 6 weeks. We need to land a bruise and make an example for others.

Lidl’s JD Gross one is €5 (still overpriced but not insane) and it genuinely tastes 10x better than the Lindt shite (Ashamed I bought it, once and never again.)
Just buy a kinder bueno. Tastes the same for a fraction of the price.
Surprised the fad is still going. Bought a bar of it for a fiver 6 months ago. It was nice but it was a once-off, curiosity thing.
