My father and his wife and son lived very close by the Evoluon. I had to spend my school holidays there. He (a Philips man himself) wouldn’t take me to the Evoluon as it was technical and science and therefore not for girls. We are talking a man with old fashioned opinions in the 1960’s/1970’s. I always felt a girl could like science, just as well.
For some reason I never went back to Eindhoven after I didn’t have to spend my holidays there anymore. Now with being disabled and the price of a train ticket, it’s too much hassle.
Can’t have been that important, after all. 🙂
Ik heb warme herinneringen aan bezoeken toen het nog een Philips museum was. Een van de redenen waarom ik natuurkunde ben gaan studeren.

This used to be a technology museum: [https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/46/Evoluon_Weeknummer_68-34_-_Open_Beelden_-_23100.ogv](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/46/Evoluon_Weeknummer_68-34_-_Open_Beelden_-_23100.ogv)

Now it’s a party- and convention establishment.
Even today it’s there!
