Average income per capita has increased 30% in last 5 years? Am I reading it right? Seems very high
Biggest jumps are where remote workers moved to right?
Why are the minor vertical marks for salary $5,555.55?
Would be interesting to see this normalized for cost of living. People justify moving to insanely expensive places because pay is supposed to be better. But NYC, DC LA, etc. aren’t paying that much more than lower cost of living places like Philly, St. Louis, Minneapolis, etc.
It doesn’t look like the increased pay is nearly enough to offset the increased cost of living, at least for the average person.
Things in san jose are insane. With AI boom you will see record real estate values in this shanty town.
Note that per capital income is essentially an average, and averages always highly skewed toward the top when it comes to wealth and income.
So Elon moving to Austin did not help Austin much.Anyways, when the 1% rule the world, per capita is total bs to most people.
Do a median income instead, please. Thank you.
Orlando cannot be that low.
Very interesting to see St Louis so far up on this list given the low CoL associated with the StL metro area.
