2. It honestly just feels like everyone is losing in some way at the moment, but I guess the question should be who is losing the least and that’s hard to say.

3. The quality and stability of life for the average person seems to be going down instead of up all over the world, and I don’t see how the trend will reverse.

By sitting on our hands and not using all of our economic and soft power to unite the west against Russia’s obvious illegal invasion of Ukraine we are squandering all of our global leadership that has gotten us 70 years of peace in Europe which historically speaking is a massive anomaly. NATO was a massive success. Deterrence worked and the current occupant of the White House is throwing it away.
   We should be locking arms with NATO and instead we are literally rolling out the red carpet for the greatest war criminal in decades. What is the upside of breaking up the alliances we ourselves built and that members want to be in? Nothing. It’s a zero sum game that Russia and China are feasting on because the NRA was corrupted by Russia’s foreign influence operation and took the majority of the Republican Party with them. Our generation will be looked at as the greatest fools to ever have the good fortune to be born in the USA.

5. China isn’t as foolish and reckless as Japan was during WWII, constantly scheming to conquer the world and ultimately lashing out in a frenzied attack on Pearl Harbor!

   Will China go berserk and attack to reclaim Taiwan? Mao Zedong said China could wait a hundred years—perhaps like Hong Kong’s 99-year wait. There are still 24 or 25 years left. Just wait and see! The Chinese Communist Party is remarkably patient.

   Hasn’t China fully supported Russia? Conversely, have the U.S. and NATO fully supported Ukraine?

   If the Russia-Ukraine war drags on like the Vietnam War—lasting 20 years before ending—what would the outcome be?

   Where do the gains and losses lie for China, the U.S., and the EU?

6. I fail to see the relevance of 2020, if we want to explore US’ FP arch, 1991 marks an appropriate watershed. As United States sets out to reshape the world in its image. Or 2016 as DJT’s first presidency mirrors US’ disenchantment with the image it had shaped.
