  5. Sophie really hasn’t had a whole lot of opportunities to stretch into a challenging role. I don’t find this encouraging, but I will hold off. I think Vikander has been the best so far.

  8. Nobody will beat Angelina Jolie in my book. I love Sophie and Alicia and I’m sure they did their best but… Angelina.

  9. I liked Alicia Vikander as Lara. Guess it’s been a long time, though.

  10. I know it was a low chance but I would’ve loved Florence Pugh as Lara.

  13. Terrible actress who had her chance at stardom after GOT and couldn’t carry a film with X-Men.

    I can hear the shrill tone of her voice.

    Ugh.

    Another franchise i get to say goodbye to.

    At least I have a lot of good media that came before thanks to Vikander and Jolie, as well as the games.

    Its been fun, Tomb Raider.

  14. Classic or Legend Lara? Awful casting choice.
    Survivor Lara? Arguably a perfect casting choice since they’re both charisma vacuums.

  16. This girl’s acting is as fluid as a box of cardboard. I hope I’ll be proven wrong because I love the Tomb Raider franchise, but Sophie Turner has been a mediocre actress so far.

  17. No one’s going to touch Angelina Jolie. There’s no point in continually trying to revive this.

  19. Not a good choice for lead. The action is gonna have to be spectacular to compensate.

    I’ll give it a chance but not hopeful.

  23. I’ll be the unpopular one here: I’m stoked to see her as Lara Croft. If done right she could be exactly the right person for it. I adore Sophie tho. She won me over during Joe Jonas’s smear campaign of her during their divorce.

  29. Looks like they’re trying to be as faithful to the original games. Because Turner’s got the acting range of a 1990s polygon video game character.

  30. Meh, they hit it on the mark with Angelina and I didn’t think Alicia was terrible…this however is a terrible choice.

  34. I dont feel good about this. She’s a nice lady, but she feels a little “one note ” in all her performances.

    She doesn’t have the draw, too. I just feel like this will be bad, but I’ll give it a fair chance as I do with everything. I want her to be amazing in it. I want a fun adventure with a memorable and fun female lead.

  35. Sign me up. Sophie’s done a lot of work, she looks fierce, and owned her role in Game of Thrones.

    That said… It is Tomb Raider.

  37. This excites me as much as when I heard Jared Leto was leading in the new Tron movie.

  38. I wish we got another movie with Vikander, it inspired me to workout more and cycle
