25 years today Labour swept into power via a landslide. If only I was alive at my current age in 1997, to be a young adult back then would’ve been the best.
Remember it well, it felt like a new beginning. Shame they ended up worse than the Tories for the working class.
Starmer is facing a government with a majority of 75. Seems like he needs to get on with the job of winning over a lot more people in a lot more places by 2024.
It’s not hard to win over the Tories when they hate their own leaders. Blair didn’t “win” them over, they were already halfway out the door anyway.
