Going out to eat is a lovely treat, but the cost can soon start to add up. Plus, with colder weather on the horizon, cosying up at home to have dinner is an appealing choice.

Las Iguanas, a well-known restaurant specialising in Mexican and South American cuisine, has joined forces with Iceland, allowing customers to enjoy all their favourite dishes without having to leave the house. For a limited time, Iceland has launched a 3 for £10 offer on the new-in products, and right now there’s an extra £2 off the deal using code LASIGUANAS2OFF.

The restaurant chain’s current menu includes fajitas, burritos, desserts and more. Iceland’s new exclusive range with Las Iguanas serves exactly that, so shoppers can tuck into authentic restaurant-quality options that they may recognise from previous visits.

Iceland shoppers have the option to choose from vibrant meals packed with flavour that are freezer-ready – ideal for a busy household.

This mix and match deal runs until Monday, September 8, giving customers a week to stock up their freezer for less, while the extra money off lasts until September 5 and can only be used once per customer. Shoppers can mix and match which meals they choose, with a range of tasty Las Iguanas products available.

Cooked minced beef, red kidney beans and black turtle beans in a chilli tomato sauce with cheese sauce, jalapeños and topped with mozzarella cheese.

The Fajita Chicken Taco Bites, £3.50, have gone down well with customers, being described as having a ‘really nice flavour’. Customers get 10 tacos in a pack that can be used as a side, or laid out in a party spread for those entertaining guests.

Consumers who don’t have much time to cook might appreciate the ease of the Classic Chilli Beef Burrito Bowl, £4. Yellow rice, black beans and kidney beans are simmered in a smoky, spicy tomato sauce with minced beef and tender beef brisket, with cheese sauce in a tortilla topped with mozzarella cheese. The meal can be cooked in the oven or in the microwave, ready in less than 10 minutes.

One person who has already tried it shared that it ‘tasted lovely’ and they would ‘definitely buy again’. However, they did point out that it ‘would be even better with some sliced chillies on top and maybe some salsa’, so they knocked off one star from their rating.

Shoppers can also find restaurant-style meals at other supermarkets – Pizza Express fans can tuck into popular meals from the restaurant at Tesco, with the signature dough balls, £3.80, and margherita pizza, £5.50, up for grabs. While Itsu products are stocked at Sainsburys, including Gyoza Dumplings, Chicken Ramen and Duck Bao Buns, starting from £1.85.

If those choices don’t appeal, Iceland’s Las Iguanas range might be on the cards for dinner. Other meal options from the supermarket and restaurant collaboration are Honey Peri Peri Wings, £4, Mexican Chorizo and Bacon Mac and Cheese, £4, Ultimate Jalapeno Bites, £3.50 and Cheesy Garlic Chicken Enchilada, £4.50.

The range also caters to a sweet tooth, with Dipping Churros, £3.50. These doughnut sticks come with a caramel flavoured sauce and cinnamon sugar.

Iceland was crowned the UK’s Best Online Supermarket in a survey by consumer champion Which? in 2022. Trustpilot hosts reviews for Iceland’s food delivery service. One satisfied customer awarded five stars, stating: “Always a great experience shopping at Iceland. Prices are unbeatable, and the same-day delivery service has saved my bacon more than once.”

Another shopper enthused: “Forget 5 stars, more like 10 stars – first time I ordered today with them, everything I ordered turned up, prices good, plus no delivery charge. From start to finish, excellent service, highly recommended.”

Discussing home delivery, several reviewers mentioned that deliveries come bagged for a small fee. One customer noted their delivery used a lot of plastic bags, commenting: “Iceland is great, but I end up with dozens of carrier bags. If they did the basket scheme like other shops, it would be much better for home deliveries.”

Iceland offers free next day delivery when spending over £40, plus same day delivery from £2. Delivery slots are available until 9pm so those who won’t be home during the day can still benefit. The free delivery service is a standout feature for others. A shopper remarked: “Not only is there a substantial range of products available around the £1 mark, but also delivery is free, which shows how much of a mark-up other companies have.”
