China military parade offers glimpse of country’s arsenal • FRANCE 24 English

[Applause] Flexing China’s military muscle, Xiinping’s military parade offered a glimpse at the country’s arsenal of weapons. According to Beijing, all the technology on display is produced in China and in active duty use. All these are major weapon system that represent a cutting edge uh in military technology globally for sure. Included in the display were four new anti-ship missiles, the YJ-15, 17, 19, and 20. Their weapons that could be used against US aircraft carriers in the region. Anti-bballistic missiles were also on show. The HQ19 and HQ29 are designed to counter medium-range missiles. New cuttingedge technology was also revealed with a weaponized robot Wolf, the LY1 laser weapon, and loyal Wingman drones designed to fly under the command of a winged fighter jet. China has invested in the underwater realm with extra-l large torpedo-shaped unmanned underwater drones. And the grand finale was a DF5C, a new kind of nuclear intercontinental ballistic missile with a longer range capable of covering the entire globe. The key story line here really is China’s rise and that the military parade will help highlight the journey’s humble beginnings going way back to World War II. And through that contract is going to underscore how far China has traveled. Overhead, warplanes and helicopters filled the skies in dramatic formation. A display of military theater designed to project power and intimidate rivals.

There was no shortage of pageantry at Wednesday’s military parade in Beijing, but beyond the spectacle, it also provided the first good look at China’s latest military hardware, from anti-ballistic missiles to a weaponised ‘robot wolf’.

  14. all the people laughing here at China (made in China etc) are so out of touch, The Chinese have improved their manufacturing and design capabilities over the years when they manufactured almost everything for the rest of the world over the last 4 decades. Is some of it copied from the west? sure probably, so what? it doesn’t mean didly squat. Made in China is not what you think it was 30 or even 10 years ago.   22. Why should any country gets intimidated by China?? China does not want to start a war with any country because it is doing very well and still is rising economically. Peace favors its economic development. War will only devastate its economy. China just wants to defend itself because the U.S. is trying to create trouble for it by surround it with military bases and imposing economic sanctions and tariffs against it. Moreover, China will not invade Taiwan because once China overtakes the U.S. economically, Taiwan's economy will mostly likely be so integrated with China that its best option is to accept the "one China, two system" solution (like Hong Kong and Macau). / In fact, China has already surpassed U.S. in terms GDP Purchasing Power Parity and manufacturing.
