RAHWAY, NJ., Sept. 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The City of Rahway has partnered with Rahway SID and Union County Performing Arts Center to present the Festival of the Moon on October 4-20, 2025. Memorable performances evoking and celebrating the moon will be performed onstage while Luke Jerram’s world famous Museum of the Moon is suspended mid-air over the orchestra section inside the majestic UCPAC theater.

Not-to-be missed performances under the glow of the Moon include: • Moonrise, a captivating concert presented by New Jersey Symphony • An enchanting rendition of ‘Swan Lake, Act II and More’ performed by American Repertory Ballet • The fairy-tale opera ‘Rusalka’, based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid, performed by New Jersey Opera Theater • Ada Twist, Scientist & Friends, a family musical spotlighting STEM curriculum • Lunar Rising , a breathtaking concert presented by Wharton Arts’ New Jersey Youth Symphony • The Dark Side of the Moon, and other Pink Floyd favorites, performed by Heroes for Ghosts

“It’s not every day you can see the New Jersey Symphony or American Repertory Ballet performing under the glow of the moon,” said Mayor Raymond A. Giacobbe. “The Festival of the Moon is more than an event; it’s a magical moment for Rahway and everyone who joins us.”

Other experiences for families include a presentation of the animated movie SING with karaoke fun and Goodnight, Moon: Tales for Tiny Astronauts story hour under the moon.

About Museum of the Moon Museum of the Moon, an artwork by U.K. artist Luke Jerram, has awed and inspired audiences around the world. This huge model of the moon measures 23 feet in diameter and features detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. Viewers can see the dark side of the moon, plus every crater, mountain and crevice of the moon’s surface up close.
