It’s from the Order of St Michael and St George. The image is supposed to represent St Michael standing on the head of Satan.
That guy with the sword gives his name to one of the best known Spanish beers.
My ma bought a clock with Jesus on it and he had a neon halo . Class
WTAF?
Was this in a church or a shop?
It’s unreal to think anyone would think displaying that was ok
Besides the obvious issue, why does the angel have tits?
That’s the normal St Michael statue. Is it an issue that Satan is black/brown?
I think he’s white but darkened due to the fires of hell.
So, Ireland is just like everywhere else in the Anglophone world, influenced by American pseudo-politics, so now people go about looking for things to be offended about on other people’s behalf? Great.
Wow, D&D figurines have taken a weird turn haven’t they?
Yeah, the Church was definitely used for open white supremacy back in the days. I’m Danish and I read an article the other day about how Denmark sent convicts’ families to Greenland in the 18th century to, uhm, “lighten the mood” there. Just like Britain did in places like Australia. It wasn’t as systemic as what the Brits did so it didn’t have a catastrophic outcome for the Greenlanders, but it definitely was attempted.
Are those little flamelets on Satan’s arm and torso?
