Czechia will supply Ukraine with at least 1.5 million large-caliber rounds by the end of this year and continue training Ukrainian pilots on modern fighter jets.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala made the announcement on September 4 following a meeting of the “Coalition of the Willing,” Novinky.cz reported.

“I want to emphasize that we will keep our promises within the framework of the ammunition initiative. We will supply Ukraine with at least 1.5 million units of ammunition, as we did last year, and I believe we will surpass this figure this year. We are also continuing to train Ukrainian soldiers and pilots on F-16 simulators,” the Prime Minister said.

Fiala also noted that Czech defense spending will reach 2.35% of GDP in 2025. In addition to acquiring modern fighter jets and advanced defense systems, the government has recently approved the purchase of Leopard 2A8 tanks.
