2. We have snowbird friends who came back from Florida in May this year. They hey said they saw plenty of this back then. Trump and the republicans are indeed making food more expensive for consumers.

   I never thought I’d see damage done to this country like this in my lifetime….. America for America in a world filled with global trade won’t end well.

4. I’m lost without my summer tomatoes. It’s been a horrible season for them – not just about tariffs but up here in the PNW the weather has significantly delayed the season.

   But I can’t believe all those lower grocery costs, right MAGA? /s

8. USDA under the Trump administration is deregulated. Their main government page used to say as much.

   Food prices are going way up in the face of massive surpluses.

   The surpluses are because tariffs and dismantling of US Aid have shuttered food exports across the board in the US.

   The deregulation means that mega corp farmer and rancher consortiums can price fix the market like they are doing.

9. We could feed the world with what we throw away.

   And those farmers are depleting the soil just to destroy shit to maintain corporate profits at the demand end of the equation.

   Capitalism is gross.

10. So, taxes result in lower quantity supplied and higher prices. Hm, where did I hear that before? Oh yeah, my high school economics class.
