"Homesickness of a Glarner in America" is a poem composed just after the turn of the 20th century by a Swiss man named Jakob Baumgartner – my great great grandfather.
He was living in Wisconsin at the time of publishing – translated from German "Heimweh eines Glarners in Amerika".

That’s cool! The sernthal is probably what we call sernftal. My great grandmother was also from there so we might be very distant relatives!
