  1. What was wrong with the rainbow colors? Unless its weak willed snowflakes that didn’t like those evil woke stairs as the American republicans would say.

  2. This sure feels like a statement towards LGBT+ folks. I’m unfortunately American so this immediately makes me think of how Florida has been removing rainbow crosswalks.

    Good thing that the city promised to quickly repaint them in rainbow colours.

  5. What was wrong with steps without paint at all? Typically outdoor steps like that become slippery when wet.

    I mean at this point it can range from “they get a different colour scheme every year” and it’s just ragebait, to “Russian infiltrants secretly repainted the stairs at night to polarize”, to whatever.

    The tiniest of first-world problems, but this spelling drives me crazy. You’ll never see an English-speaker use it. Ever. I could safely bet money that OP is Polish.

    Not attacking/criticising OP at all! Just always been so, so curious why this spelling is still used in English in Poland.

  12. Apparently someone repainted them illegally. But if the intention was nationalistic, as these are now in colour of the polish flag, it is pretty stupid. Why? What kind of nationalist would want people to step on the polish flag???

    Besides that these aren’t even LGBT colors just colors…

  19. What I don’t understand – even if the rainbow represented LGBTQ*, which it seemingly didn’t in this case, why would anyone be offended by that?

    I’m not offended if I see a cross, even if I’m not a christian. Why be offended over a symbol of something you aren’t?

Noticing that lots of the comments that say ‘good’ or ‘lgbt is a disease’ or whatever are like few weeks/months old accounts or less that already have thousands of comments on their name, implying these people came to reddit and have nothing else to do all day. I swear one day we are gonna discover there is some AI bot farm where countries are trying to insure democracy falls apart from manufactured infighting. Smells super fishy to me.

  21. So stepping on the Polish flag is ok now? What is going on in Poland? I thought Germany had low rates of patriotism, but not even Germans would do that to our own flag.

  27. Maybe it’s just me but I don’t really get this whole act of painting a flag of any sort on the floor / walkway. To me, stepping over a flag just seems like more of an act of disrespect, regardless of what it represents.

There is a town in Hungary where the local officials made a rainbow bridge a couple days ago, nothing lmbtq but to help pet owners remember their animals who “passed over the rainbow bridge” It even has some paw prints. Still…Im counting the days till someone vandalises it and paints it black.

  38. These weren’t rainbow stairs to begin with. They were colorful but not rainbow. 

    Just like the “rainbow” 1 love armband some football players wore wasn’t rainbow but colorful. 

  40. In my opinion, it is stupid to paint the national flag on stairs, sidewalks or roads. People will literally wipe their feet on their flags.

  44. You all may be too young to remember when the rainbow in Plac Zbawiciela, Warsaw, was burnt and vandalised several times until it was removed in 2015. I love Poland, but many people still have to learn to tolerate, if not respect, others.

  47. These are just colorful stairs, with polish poems and quotes. It has nothing to do with lgbt, they aren’t even in rainbow colors, just a bunch of random colors. Conservatives keep reassuring me that they’re more braindead than I previously thought.
