United Airlines will resume nonstop flights to Tel Aviv from Chicago O’Hare and Washington Dulles beginning in early November 2025, restoring routes that have been suspended since 2023.

Flights from Chicago will begin November 1 and operate four times per week, while flights from Washington D.C. will start November 2 and run three times weekly.

The move reestablishes United as the only airline offering nonstop service between Tel Aviv and both Chicago and Washington D.C. United already operates twice-daily service to Tel Aviv from Newark/New York and has flown more to Israel in 2025 than any other U.S. carrier.

Strategic Reconnection to Israel

United’s return to Tel Aviv from these two major U.S. hubs is part of the airline’s broader international network strategy and reflects ongoing assessments of safety, operational viability, and demand in the region. The routes were suspended in 2023 amid heightened regional instability, and their reinstatement comes following a period of evaluation.

“The resumption of these flights underscores United’s longstanding commitment to Tel Aviv,” said Patrick Quayle, United’s senior vice president of Global Network Planning and Alliances.

With the addition of these flights, United will offer direct Tel Aviv service from three major U.S. airports, reinforcing its position as the U.S. airline with the most flights to Israel. The airline continues to monitor the situation in the region closely, maintaining a flexible approach based on its internal risk assessment protocols.

Tel Aviv remains a key international destination for both business and leisure travelers, and the resumption of service from Chicago and Washington is expected to strengthen bilateral travel and economic ties between the U.S. and Israel. United’s continued investment in these routes reflects strong demand and competitive positioning in the transatlantic market.

Both reinstated routes will use widebody aircraft configured for long-haul international service. Flight frequencies are scheduled to align with peak travel periods and are subject to further adjustments based on demand and regional conditions. Passengers can book these flights through United’s website and reservation systems starting immediately.

United’s international route map continues to evolve in response to geopolitical developments and customer demand, with the airline reaffirming its role as a leading transatlantic carrier. The return of the Tel Aviv routes from Chicago and Washington marks a key milestone in its post-2023 recovery efforts for the Middle East market.
