Trump says India and Russia appear “lost” to “deepest, darkest China”

1. He lost India all by himself with that 50% tariff and his attempt to wring a Nobel peace prize for himself out of India’s conflict with Pakistan. They were tilting pro America and even pro trump for several years.

3. My take – let the poors / corrupt / authoritarian countries form their cute little alliance. They will never catch up to to the Western coalition for a myriad of cultural, government, and other reasons.

   Within the next 50 years or less we are going to be far less reliant on oil. What will that mean for Russia?

5. What a colossal moron. We lost India because of him. They were starting to build ties with us with Quad, and he had to ruin that with his ridiculous ego tariffs. And we never had Russia to begin with. Completely disconnected from reality.

   This guy is truly an imbecile, has not the faintest idea about anything and proves it every time he speaks. Russia was already the enemy, no matter how much Trump wants to be Putin’s buddy. There was zero chance of ‘winning’ Russia over to the USA rather than China, regardless of whether this was desirable.

   India on the other hand was pushed to China because of Trump’s own actions. A major power representing 1.4 billion people and the 4th or 3rd largest economy (depending on GDP definition) was treated by the Americans with contempt and they reacted accordingly. It turns out that attacking everyone except Russia, including America’s closest allies, makes America weaker.

   He has permanently damaged America’s position on the world stage, as no one can rely on the USA anymore. I don’t think Xi or Putin could have done more to weaken American power and strength China and Russia than Trump himself, and ultimately the American people for being stupid enough to elect him a second time.

    That dude is a moran. plain and simple. you could be the biggest of tyrant and still be a leader of a country with grace and class..worthy of the seat given.

    forget grace or hes gone unhinged and and dude cant even talk like a leader.

    that said with deplomatic relations it never that simple. take trump out and things will bounce back to before with healthy skepticism.

14. If it had just been the tariffs and trade deal, then India probably would’ve caved around this time.

    What led to this outcome was him taunting India with the supposed Pakistan-oil deal and empowering of Asim Munir by allowing him to make nuclear threats on US soil. Perhaps, to him, it was one of his convoluted “negotiation” tactics “behave like a good little boy and you’ll get a lollypop like he did”, however, to India, it no longer showed the US as being any different to China.

    At that point, it was between a potentially hostile power on the other side of the world, or a potentially hostile power right on its doorstep. Off course, it would kneel to the one on its doorstep. At least with China, it has a large consumer base it can offer as appeasement. India had been setting up road blocks specifically targeted at Chinese investment, now they’re getting eased.

    Now, the only choices for India are whether to continue down the path with China, or attempt to form a front together with Japan.

    He lost India, and he never had Russia to begin with. There is nothing more he could’ve done to Russia, apart from going after its trade partners. But, at least for India, it was between its 1.4B and Ukraine’s 37M. Especially because the other cheap oil sources, like Iran and Venezuela, were also sanctioned and the US wasn’t willing to give incentives to offset the cost.
