I couldn’t be more surprised if I seen a hedgehog unicycling outside my house playing “500 Miles” on guitar. 🙃
> The study shows no evidence that Labour was able to appeal to more anti-immigration supporters to make up for its loss of Labour voters.
> Instead, **the speech made the issue of immigration 3 percentage points more salient, and even reduced support for all left-of-centre parties (Labour, the Greens and Lib Dems) by 1.5 percentage points.**
> While statistically insignificant, there may even have been a small rise in support for Reform.
Just one more tack to the right and we’ll surely win ’em over next time!
Making a speech, later on publicly saying he regrets making the speech and generally going back on everything else he’s said will alienate people. The bloke is a clown.

Was it the comment or was it the immediate retraction he made apologising for the statement?

It’s almost as if people support Labour with the expectation that they will do Labour shit (broadly progressive/social democrat policies and rhetoric) and are alienated when that expectation is not met.
Can he not just stand for something instead of popping the flag up to see which way the wind is going?
You cannot out-Farage Farage. Fight him.
Reform voters think you’re a soft touch and disingenuous. And Labour voters think you’re wet and sleekit.
He looks more and more like a ham with a haircut every day.
It’s good to see that the ‘grown-ups’ who are currently in charge of Labour know what they’re doing…
This shocks nobody who was actually paying attention.
Damn every single Starmer fan who lectured us at length that this fucking racist piece of shit weather vane was sO ElEcTaBlE and we all need to keep giving him chance after chance as he chases the votes of the most hateful the country has to offer.
He’s giving the country to actual Nazis. You’re obviously proud of yourselves.
Starmer keeps playing to the Reform crowd and frankly, they just hate him.
Keir Starmer is stuck between a rock and a hard place trying to win over anti immigration and Reform voters. He’s coming off as a flip-flopper trying to please everyone.
He’s pandering to both left and right but everyone sees through it. As a consequence, his approval rating are in freefall and his cabinet in tatters.

Stone me Rodney, even a Millwall fan could work that one out!

Scientists about to birth Keir Starmer from a test tube after decades of research into how to create the worst politician imaginable
That’s what happens when you talk to get votes rather than sticking to your principles.
No one respects a flip flopper
That’s what happens when you turn the Labour party into the diet version of the Tory party
Frankly the far bigger risk of our becoming an island of strangers is technology, particularly social media, which seems to consume a lot of time people would otherwise spend out and about.
Trying to outright the Tories and reform was never gonna work.
He’s honestly a fucking clueless political operator who only got in because of the collapse of the Tory vote.
He needs to go and Labour need to be the actual Labour party again.
Centre right and right is already congested and they won’t win any votes from that area.

“I’ve been training my leopard cubs to eat peoples faces. I can’t wait until they grow up!”
The bloke is toast. Go now.
Sad part is Nigel Trumpage could say the exact same speech and he would be cheered for it by his supporters.
Y’all need to figure your shit out. This is only going to get worse: [https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/08/25/sex-crimes-foreign-nationals-surge/](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/08/25/sex-crimes-foreign-nationals-surge/)
Story of his career.
It was apparent enough at the election, right? That even despite the conservatives being as sorely unpopular and well past sell by date, Tory voters saw no reason to rush out and back the other side. Instead most stayed home or voted reform. It’s as if Kier Starmer is seen as almost as much of a lame duck as Rishi Sunak was.
Can I get a show of hands that disagree with his island of strangers speech?
