  1. Great work heroes 💪 push those bastards back to their Hell(Russia). Slava Ukraini 🍻

  2. I think Ukraine figured out the Russian weakness. Let them push in, their momentum and excitement will get the best of them over stretching, counter and encircle. Bite off large chunks of personal and create conditions for a counter offensive. Russia is so desperate for a win they will make poor decisions at the possibility of one.

  3. Seems as though the forces they’re attempting to concentrate near Pokrovsk are being drawn from all along the front.

  4. Here is the thing.

The Soviets tried something similar twice in WW2 (at a larger scale). There was the Barvenkovo-Lozovaya-Offensive in 1942 and then the Izyum-Barvenkovo-Offensive in 1943.
In both cases the Germans allowed the Soviets to penetrate deep and they then chewed up the Soviet flanks at great cost to the Soviets. Bost offensives ended in tactical losses for the Soviets.
However, in order for the Soviets to take the bait the Germans had to make an honest effort at defending their initial positions or the Soviets would have smelled the trap. As a consequence, the Germans traded casualties at a 1:4 to 1:5 ratio but those were casualties the Soviets managed to sustain. The Germans couldn’t and eventually their Ukrainian front collapsed.

These little colorful blotches on maps are interesting but if we want to know how this war of attrition is going we’d need a larger manpower picture for the front.
Unfortunately, we don’t have one. We’ll know what this tactical victory is worth for the Ukrainians in a couple of months.

  5. Sun Tzu would probably warn against that. An encircled foe with no way out is much more likely to fight to the bitter end.

Surround the Ruzzians, and they’ll most likely hunker down wherever they can and force Ukraine to waste weaponry and manpower trying to survive for imaginary reinforcements.

Better in my uneducated self’s opinion to keep up the three-pronged assault and chase them out.

  6. I would like to think they could encircle them and then obliterate them with drones and artillery

  7. Whe you are near, appear far, when you are far appear near- Sun Tzu
