    When I was previously in Labour many years ago I simply couldn’t stand the bloke, honestly think making him Foreign Secretary was one of the worst appointments Starmer made, and somehow he makes the situation worse by making him Deputy PM??

  6. It’s an odd reshuffle when Starmer previously said he wasn’t planning one. The housing sec resigned so he’s reshuffled three of the top four positions seemingly so one could also be his deputy when that’s a role that has no significant real responsibilities anyway.

  25. Why does Kier keep shooting himself in the foot… again and again with the most obvious shit. No one is going to like this, and he is easy prey for the oligarchs propaganda. The guy is littered with bad news and has never been well liked, especially recently as he is the face of handing over the chagos islands, and having us pay for it. And true or not, he is well renown for being anti british and hounding on about Britain’s colonial past that we must pay for it etc. All of this will just be easy fodder for the pro reform lot. Nice.

    She was altogether the teller of truths about the reality of the King’s New Clothes. Passionate about her people.

    They’ve replaced her with a Company Man. Flexible in his mission to do the best for Britain to the extent of a Brexit epiphany worthy of St Paul himself.

  30. Why are we shuffling people out of their roles after 1 year just to replace one person…? Would have preferred a straight insertion of someone new. Two swaps at the most, if the strongest candidate for deputy was an existing minister of a department.

    We need to let ministers become comfortable with their brief over a period of time. It has been a weakness of our country to have priorities constantly switching with each new figurehead that comes in.
