WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump is planning an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) cage match that will take plan on the White House lawn.
UFC Chief Executive Dana White hinted at the event in a video that’s circulating on social media.
The White House fight is on,” he said in the footage. “I will have more details on that in the next couple weeks. But we got it done today.”
The Washington Post broke the news, noting that the “mixed martial arts throwdown” will include lasers and fireworks.
The media outlet also said the UFC’s Octagon cage will be “flanked by the White House and Washington Monument” during the fights.
Many more people could watch on jumbo screens set up on the Ellipse, a park south of the White House, or other areas nearby,” according to the publication.
Trump’s Rapid Response 47 team shared an image posted by Fox News, which noted the event will feature a full fight card and take place on the South Lawn, with weigh-ins set at the Lincoln Memorial.
The Washington Post said the event was scheduled for June 2026.
“This will be one of the greatest and most historic sports events in history, and President Trump hosting it at the White House is a testament to his vision to celebrate America’s monumental 250th anniversary,” Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said, according to the media outlet.
