Sounds like Reform, or LA-J at least, may be preparing to throw their toys out the pram if they're unable to form the next Welsh Government (which they likely won't because proportional system and not enough willing partners).

Scary times we live in and sad that a complete lack of sovereignty for the Senedd means they could do this with a simple majority in parliament. I hope we don't just roll over and accept this should it come to pass.

  1. But if they scrap the Senedd then their members won’t be paid and collect their pensions….

  2. As the article notes, the Senedd can’t vote itself out of existence. Reform would have to push such a policy through at Westminster.

  3. Any Brit, not just the Welsh, who vote for Reform Ltd are traitors. It is the Putin party

  4. More GPs surgeries is hilarious, can’t get enough GPs in current surgeries.

  5. If these fuckers try to take even more sovereignty from us they are basically proving they stand for nothing and the fascist hat fits.

I don’t think that there are many others things that they could have said that would have pissed me off more than this.

  6. “We can’t rule out being enemies of Wales” jesus christ

  7. They can’t scrap it because it was done in democratic way by voting for it. Even if they want to. They would authoritarian & other countries wouldn’t really bother with.them.

  8. Would the cost savings of ending the assembly benefit us the Welsh taxpayers?

  9. Reform: devolution is here to stay

Also Reform: lol no it’s not

Traitorous behaviour. They’re a pack of liars and they can’t even agree on basic things like this! Given half the chance they’ll run Wales into the ground.

  10. Breaking news: English nationalist group doesn’t want a devolved welsh government.

    Shocked.

  11. I wonder if they’d consider an alliance with AWAP, then

  12. Shout it from the rooftops: Reform want Welsh people to have less control. The opposite of take back control.

  13. Sorry Reform, but we had a referendum on this. Will of the people, and all that jazz.

  14. So being part of a union is terrible when it’s Europe, but amazing when it’s the UK? As if we needed any more proof this is the Colonial Party. I’d call them the ENP, but that’s unfair to decent English people who are also getting fucked by these cunts.

  15. Sounds like we’ll be scrapping Reform then. Game on.

  16. Reform need to look at it from the standpoint of Welsh local authorities being the size of district councils. The Senedd would really come into its own in gaining more powers from the districts and becoming a local education and social care authority, enabling the districts to focus on libraries and parks.

  17. If they scrap the senedd there will be a major campaign of civil disobedience.

  18. Anyone who votes for Reform is a bradwr. How can you be Welsh and vote for a party that wouldn’t pour water on us if we were on fire and would probably bring back the Welsh Not in order to force us into not learning or speaking Welsh in schools.

    (Bradwr – traitor).

  19. I used to live next to this creature, I heard a rumour she yelled at the driver of the disabled assistance bus as it was blocking her driveway lmao

  20. Unfortunately the welsh public will vote for this because they see the senedd as a “waste of money”

  21. Christ. How many other countries ever debate whether or not to do away with their government ?

  22. Would that even be allowed given that the Senedd are an elected body.

  23. “scrapping the 20mph law, building the M4 relief road and more GP surgeries.”

From these policies much support will flow regardless of the rest.

  24. Scrap the Senedd
    Scrap the NHS
    Scrap the Welsh language

    Reform are twats

  25. >Laura Anne Jones told the conference: “We need to try and make the Senedd work for the people of Wales, but if it doesn’t, we need to question whether the Senedd is really adding value to Wales.”

    Dick Sion Dave suggested much the same in his S4C interview. It’s a justification that can be applied in multiple ways;

If Reform has the most seats but can’t form a majority or no one forms a coalition government with them, then whatever coalition does form is undemocratic and the Senedd needs to be scrapped.

If Reform gains control of the Senedd and things get worse for Wales, then it’s because the Senedd is unworkable and needs to be scrapped.

Any party or organisation invested in autonomy for Wales needs to get ahead of this narrative…frankly now or yesterday, because no major newspaper or broadcaster is going to do it for you.
