Why were we sending US military into NK again? Last time we lost the USS Pueblo. US seals a prisoners of NK would have been a nightmare.
I bet Trump wanted his Obama – Osama moment.
Little Kim is going to pissed.
Department of Warmongering
I thought he fell in love?
And that was during Trump-lite (2019). Imagine what he and the Dept. of War are going to try to do next.
Disturbing that he hid this from congress at the time. It is the sort of blunder that partially cost Carter reelection when he tried to rescue the hostages back in 79.
At the very least, the big four in congress need to be briefed on this shit. For far too long, congress has given the executive branch carte blanche on the use of military force. They need to reign that in.
I usually don’t like the argument “Imagine if this was Obama” to criticize Trump. But, fuck me… Imagine if this was Obama. Conservatives would demand his resignation in a heartbeat.
Just another Trump shitshow…
But the love letters!!!
Waiting for Kim’s breakup text.
Add it to his ever-growing list of crimes. Murderous dictator pedophile.
Imagine all the other crazy shit he’s ordered that is under wraps.
Shit and that was before the purge. I cant imagine how many of these stories will be created now that the senior ranks of the military are all MAGA.
I’d understand a rescue mission. However, sending in a Seal team just to spy seems crazy even for Trump.
Everything he touches turns to shit.
Were they tasked with delivering another love letter?
> The botched operation was subjected to a series of military reviews during Trump’s first term. Investigators concluded it was justified under the rules of engagement and declared that the deaths were part of a chain of “unfortunate occurrences” that could not have been foreseen or avoided
So the rules of engagement say “it’s okay to kill civilians when operating covert missions on the soil of a nation we haven’t had an armed conflict with in over half a century” ?
I get that if it was military they could be fired up on, but FFS this is just going to be propagandized all over North Korean as proof against western influence, and it won’t be made up for once. We killed their civilians trying to fish.
> could not have been foreseen or avoided
My ass it couldn’t. We could have *not* gone to do this. What a fucking debacle.
This is what happens when you elect someone with the mental capacity of a 12 year old boy. Trump does things on a whim that he pictures will make him this great American hero who everybody will see as big and powerful, he does this without any actual useful planning or goal in mind other than how he will look. He genuinely has no idea what he is doing.
we investigated ourselves, and after careful review, found we did nothing wrong.

>A Donald Trump-approved plan to send Navy SEALs into North Korea to spy on leader Kim Jong Un resulted in the U.S. killing of civilians, according to a bombshell report.
>The mission, carried out in early 2019 during Trump’s first term, tasked SEAL Team 6’s Red Squadron with sneaking onto the shores of the reclusive state via mini-subs to plant an electronic device that would allow the U.S. to [intercept Kim’s communications](https://archive.ph/o/YtbJu/https://www.thedailybeast.com/trumps-new-love-letters-reportedly-rebuffed-by-kim-jong-un/), [*The New York Times*](https://archive.ph/o/YtbJu/https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/05/us/navy-seal-north-korea-trump-2019.html)reported.
>But as the SEALs were on the shore, they spotted a small boat, with one person entering the water. Believing the boat could be North Korea’s security force, the U.S. team opened fire, killing two or three people in a hail of gunfire.
>When the SEALs approached to confirm the kills, they discovered the men were civilians who had simply been fishing for shellfish, the *Times* reported. Realizing their mistake, members of the Red Squadron—the same unit that killed Osama bin Laden in Pakistan in 2011—pulled the bodies from the water so they would not be discovered by North Korean authorities.
>One official familiar with the mission told the *Times* the SEALs even punctured the fishermen’s lungs to ensure the corpses would sink.
>North Korea has never publicly acknowledged the deaths, and U.S. officials remain unsure whether the regime ever learned what happened six years ago, according to the report.
>*******************
>According to the *Times*, before the SEALs entered the no-communications zone, Trump had to personally give the final go-ahead for the mission.

>The botched operation was subjected to a series of military reviews during Trump’s first term. Investigators concluded it was justified under the rules of engagement and declared that the deaths were part of a chain of “unfortunate occurrences” that could not have been foreseen or avoided, according to the *Times*. The findings were then classified and never made public.
>Several of those involved in the failed mission were later promoted.

This was simply a poorly planned mission that went sideways, and because Trump gave the final go ahead the buck stops with him.
Innocent people were killed for no good reason and it was kept a secret for 6 years. Oversight is necessary.
Reminder. Hegseth recently fired the top navy Seal Commander over politics and philosophy.
“SEAL Commander Fired After Clashes With Pentagon
SETH HETTENA AUG 25, 2025
Inside the firing of Rear Admiral Jamie Sands, whose push for accountability and transparency collided with Hegseth’s vision for Naval Special Warfare
Rear Adm. Milton “Jamie” Sands, the two-star commander of the Navy SEALs, was fired Friday after repeated clashes with Pentagon leadership over his handling of high-profile cases and cultural battles inside Naval Special Warfare.
Sands’ defenders say his removal was political, the result of months of friction with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and his allies. But his critics faulted his judgment in several controversies, from a decision that blindsided the Justice Department and scuttled a plea deal, to his push for female instructors in SEAL training, to his handling of a Navy board tied to the 2022 death of trainee Kyle Mullen.
From the outset, Sands brought a values-driven approach to command, emphasizing what he called the “non-negotiable” SEAL ethos of abandoning self and embracing the team. In an appearance on The Program Podcast, he warned leaders against two failures he viewed as catastrophic for discipline and morale. One was misplaced loyalty or prioritizing personal relationships over the organization. The other was willful blindness, ignoring “unacceptable, illegal, immoral, unethical, just bad” conduct.
That philosophy put Sands on a collision course with the civilian military leadership under a president who has ticked many of those boxes. Less than a year after taking command of Naval Special Warfare in Coronado, California, the admiral who gained national attention in 2016 for cracking down on drug abuse within the SEALs was abruptly dismissed.

This was in 2019, and we are just now! finding out about this.
Yea, we’re boned.
Few things are more dangerous than giving absolute power to a man who knows absolutely nothing but has convinced himself that he knows absolutely everything.
No, Trump is getting abysmal job numbers because he is a fucking idiot and is fucking up the economy all by his fucking self. Puddin’ head needs to go, but before that he needs to release the Epstein Files.
And today he said he’d never heard of it.
yet he had to sign off on it.
Such a terrible liar. And such a terrible half of a country that believes his lies.
Leak all the crazy stories, take up the news cycle. That’s what I see happening. Not that this isn’t significant, in fact that’s why many of these stories are likely coming out right now.
The speaker of the house just said Trump was an FBI informant on Epstein on camera. So the speaker is saying the president flipped on the pedo ring he was in? If this is the best lie, imagine the truth. He just confirmed his criminal kid fucking status as part of a cover up. Show the list.
If this were true, that Trump did something heroic, to take down pedophiles….he would never shut up about it.
What the actual fuck. How can they say this was legal. How would they feel if north Korean military executed some American fishermen on a beach in Hamptons? Would that be “unfortunate and unavoidable”?
Starting to think this Trump fellow isn’t that competent.
