  8. Putting aside the obvious discussion of Russian war crimes and threats to a neutral nation, those weapons couldn’t do that, right? I mean, that’s a huge amount of land they’re talking about their artificial tsunami flooding, it seems unrealistic. I also wouldn’t expect the radioactivity to turn both us and Britain into a wasteland, that just doesn’t seem feasible.

  10. This is the kind of science that got them to the point they are at now, retreating to the east of Ukraine. I think you need a bit more than 100 megatons to wipe Ireland and Britain off the map with a tsunami. The Tonga volcano eruption was about 10 megatons and it caused a 1.5 metre tsunami.

  21. The Royal Navy has the highest concentration of submarine hunters in the North Sea, because that is where trident is, so the Russian sub this is meant to be fired from would never make it anywhere close.

  30. That whole video is total nonsense. You’d need much more than 100mt to create a 500m tsunami. And even if you did it would run out of steam pretty quick. It definitely would not cover the whole of Ireland, nevermind the UK. Do they even have 100mt bombs? I thought the Tsar bomba was around 50mt?

    And the half life of the radiation from a nuclear bomb is not the same as from a nuclear power plant meltdown. In a few weeks the vast majority of the radiation is gone. It wouldn’t turn Ireland into a radioactive desert.

    The whole thing is utter bollox.

  37. A nuclear bomb detonated underwater cannot cause water to move further than the explosion itself would move as the water is heavier than air and the deeper you go the more the explosion had to fight against pressure.

    100 megatons detonated above 50m underwater would just be an explosion and barely displace any water, and under 150m the pressure collapse the explosion rapidly leading to a lot of radioactive water but barely any waves.

    In that in between zone, you’ve got some waves but they fall off cube- square so… This would do little beyond poisoning the coastline and ending the North sea as a fishing spot.

    Tsunami bombs are fiction.

  40. There should not be a reason ever for a video like this to exist. This is fucking disgusting. What level of self awareness about the damage we are doing to our world does anyone need to achieve before anyone cares? Even the mere idea of wiping an entire country out with a nuclear explosion should be so disgusting to us as a race that a video like this would just be made by edgelords. What happened to us?
