The Danes were left frustrated at being unable to break down the well-organised Scots and Fulham defender Andersen believes Eriksen – who is still without a club after leaving Manchester United in the summer – could have made all the difference.

He said: “Christian is a big figure on our team and there were perhaps some of his qualities that we missed.
“We could have done with his ability to find the dangerous pass or make some passes that others don’t see.
“We played some football that was ok, but we lacked the ability to create the big chances. There wasn’t quite enough variety in our game.
“I think we hit the same type of cross too often and it was a breeze for their defenders and easy for them to defend, so we need to work on that until the match in Greece.
“Scotland were really comfortable because they were good at dealing with our crosses.
“I thought we did the same things all the time – we played a lot down their left wing.
“We hit crosses in too wide positions, and that made it too easy for the opponents to clear the ball.”
