Typical Britnat labour attitude towards Scotland. How dare the Scottish government named a Scottish medical facility after a historical Scottish nurse.
To not prove we are different is to ignore reality. Healthcare in Scotland is a devolved matter. By it’s very definition, it is different to England. He only posted this to badmouth anything the SNP did that diverged from England at the time. That kind of thing made and still makes British Labour in Scotland absolutely seethe…as we will see during his tenure as Scottish Secretary.
Years ago I was woking in a place where he hosted meetings. All the other staff hated him for being a “stuck up prick”. I found out when I passed him in the corridor and without introduction he barked an order to me about something to do with his room set up and “gave me a row” and issued a vague threat at me for whatever the issue was.
I wasn’t working in the place doing room set up or any of that, and there was nothing to indicate I was by my work clothes etc, but I was friendly with the people whose job it was and I spoke to them. The room had been set up perfectly, just as it usually was, and apparently he was like that all the time – moaning about jobs not being done that had been done and just shouting at and ordering staff about. They left the room as it was, as it was already set up properly and not the way he was complaining it was. I was told his sister was the same.
That encounter with him has always left me with the impression he’s a sad wee bully, with poor situational awareness, who steps on people to make himself feel big
At this stage we are literally scraping the bottom of the barrel. I guess recent events will make luring our most talented people into politics even more difficult.

Alexander was a prick last time he was in government, a useless prick, so unless he’s gone to night school, I suspect he’ll still be a prick. He’s of the Gordon Brown ‘North British’ school.
Who cares? It seems like such an innocuous statement.
Is his sister back talking to him yet?
