Zara’s lawyers gonna now go after any company that shares three letters they uses in their name?
Large organisations with in-house councel unfortunately have nothing much to lose when filing these nonsensical suits.
If the case is found wholly without merit then I would like to see punitive damages for “corporate intimidation” awarded. £100M for attempting to intimidate business owners from conducting perfectly legal competition through merit less legal threats.
These attempts to shut down smaller competitors need to be dealt with robustly and harshly by the courts with punitive damages awarded to the smaller businesses and ideally disciplinary measures taken against then lawyers and solicitors involved. I’d love to see the bastards have their licence to practice revoked.
Considering how many designs Zara have stolen over the years…
