I’m surprised that historic emissions in the US/UK are so much higher than in continental Europe.
The US is fucking ridiculous. Literally ruining the planet for their wealth.
Looks like it’s clear who’s to blame.
Watching the tv news I got the firm impression that China was the bad guy.
I find it really interesting that you can essentially see not only ww2 for europe, but the 1930’s stockmarket crash for the US.
Other takeaways:
* Brazil has always been low, despite being a middle-income industrialized country. Good for them. (In large part because Brazil’s electricity is overwhelmingly hydro-power.)
* We all expected the US to have high emissions, but >25% per capita reduction in less than two decades is a move in the right direction.
* China has been going up, but is only about the EU level, and much lower than the US. Hopefully there’s a reduction soon.
We should work on increasing our population so the chart goes down faster. /s
