Hello everyone,

My wife and I are going to move to Frankfurt at the end of this month from Turkey.

She is accepted from a university in Darmstadt at Dieburg. I will have both residence and work permit. My questions will be mainly about jobs. I normally work as a 3D Artist and my main tools are Houdini, Maya, Substance Painter, Zbrush, Unreal Engine etc. My portfolio: https://www.artstation.com/gokhancanitez 🙂

I’m looking for jobs like Amazon Warehouse and Lieferando with bicycle for a year maybe. Because i think it will take a really good amount of time to find a job in 3D industry.

I am really open any advices, tips, maybe websites, blogs ti dig in etc.

And i want to mention that i can’t speak german right now and i want to start learning as soon as possible with online or on site courses after moving. I don’t have driver license either. We are planning first to get an airbnb and then maybe wg and after two or three months i hope we can find a house to rent.

Any recommendations about jobs, which one is better like amazon or lieferando, maybe sonething else? And maybe staying recommendations, areas etc.

  1. Well if you wife is going to university in Darmstadt you really shouldn’t move to Frankfurt. The city is expensive beyond reason. Look in the suburbs around Darmstadt. Won‘t be that much cheaper, but if you household income is one student and one delivery driver I‘d argue every Euro saved on rent counts.
