King Charles and Queen Camilla have held a moment of silence today in Scotland just two days after the death of Katharine, the Duchess of Kent. Their Majesties have stepped out today at the Braemar Royal Highland Gathering at The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park, marking their first public appearance since the duchess’ sad death was announced on Friday.
The King, 76, and Queen, 78, looked emotional during the one-minute silence before taking to their seats for the games to begin. The games are traditionally held annually on the first Saturday of September in Braemar, and feature traditional events such as Highland dancing, pipe band competitions and band parades.
