  1. The Trump administration will begin renegotiating the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA), with the U.S. Trade Representative planning public hearings and an October 4, 2025 deadline to initiate the process. The agency may issue a request for comments from companies and unions as soon as this week, launching a months long renegotiation. The USMCA, signed by Trump in 2020 to replace 1992’s NAFTA, was a flagship trade achievement of his first term. Tensions have risen after Trump imposed then partially rolled back steep tariffs on Canada and Mexico in 2025. The talks unfold amid economic concerns, including the risk of recession and a growing government deficit, which could shape bargaining positions and outcomes.

  2. So, when will he renegade this deal again, claiming it was the worst deal in the history of trade deals?

  3. He’s been “renegotiating” his entire second term. Rebranding it again as if he’s performing some novel task is ridiculous. He is failing. End of story.

  4. Is this the deal he said was terrible before being reminded it was the deal he made?

I know it’s difficult because he “floods the zone” but I implore MAGA to pick one Trump line of enquiry and follow it, you will rapidly discover this man is a total moron.

  5. Will it be including American annexation of any Mexican land? What about Canada?

  6. I don’t know why anyone would bother negotiating with the US at this point since our word is meaningless.

  7. USMCA was supposedly one of his big accomplishments from his first term. He wouldn’t stop talking about how great it was. If it was so great why does it need to be renegotiated?

  8. Or just waiting?

I’m quite certain waiting out a year for most of the involved parties will be preferable.

Lots of memos and letters will flow, but, it does appear the world is waiting to see. What will develop next?
