I like to go hiking around Belgium and used routeyou.be to find hikes and download the GPX files to do these hikes. But downloading GPX files has become a premium feature, and I don't go hiking nearly enough to justify the monthly expense. Anyone know a site where I can find and download GPX files of hikes for free?

I do the same, and have the same problem question . (The paid download of gpx , is new … in the past this was possible)
nl.wikiloc.com

Jesus, literally everything is slowly becoming a “premium feature”, ain’t it?
Waiting till we need to get an abonnement in order to keep on breathing oxygen.
Garmin Connect?
There is the TopoMapViewer app and website from Belgium’s national geographical institute.
In Belgium most provinces have a website to promote tourism, those sites have hiking routes with free gpx files. I use the one in Vlaams Brabant a lot. Other provinces have similar sites. They are usually good, with lots of quality hikes.
I use Google maps and then https://mapstogpx.com
Works great and free
The Cirkwi app is what a lot of municipalities use to put their local signposted hikes on. You can also download the gpx files. Sometimes there’s interesting info on the local tourism website if you go look for it.
I use Locus Map 4 Outdoor Navigation on Android. Use the map Layer Outdoors (OSM – Outdoor)
You can plan routes yourself (or copy them from an other source) with a few waypoints. Some official routes are also visible on the map, so you can go from there also.
Importing or exporting GPX files is also a possibility 🙂
The app has many other features (like offline maps) so I advise you to check the app out before you leave for your trip 🙂
Is use this site to creatie my own gpx or copy a route:
https://onthegomap.com/#/create
Works great!
As long as you have 4G (almost always in Belgium) you can use AllTrails for free
