A school cafeteria worker admits she did wrong and she understands why she was fired. For 14 years, Debbie Soulsman worked as a beloved lunch lady here at Denver Place Elementary School in Wilmington. She says she would upgrade the lunch of a child who didn’t have enough money or give them extra food if they said they were still hungry. If they didn’t have enough money on their account, they would get a cheese sandwich instead. that got a free lunch that would come back and say, “Miss Debbie, I’m still hungry. Didn’t you get your belly full for supper last night?” And you don’t know how many times they heard they didn’t have supper that night. Soulsman says she kept Post-it note IUS and paid out of her own pocket for kids, but the district suspended and terminated her this February for quote not keeping track of her register and providing food to her grandchildren without payment end quote. Soulsman admits to giving her grandchildren extra food, too, but says it wasn’t just them. I broke the rule.

In most places of the world the lunch for schools is free, it is a subsidy given by the government paid with the taxes of people, Well sorry for feeding kids and using my own money to pay for them while the government pays degenerates that do not work cuz they do not want to and supports criminals, uses the taxes on weapons and charges high prices for subpar food on school cafeterias.

  15. This is the reason why you should never donate to schools. They pocket everything for themselves and give a damn about the children. I always said, "Why do you have to qualify for free lunch in a public school? It's ridiculous."

  26. Ok. I know it may not be easy, but if you are an adult in the school and a student tells you they aren't eating at home, that sounds like abuse. There is no reason for this other than neglect. She should have reported their parents. Its just a phone call away.

  39. This is sad but this is the world that we live in, this happens in Almost every food establishment. They rather throw food away than to give it to the kids, employees and people in need. Every food establishment I have ever worked in, I was told to throw the unsold food away. Soooo just I gave a big ole discount.
