    >”[Jesus] has commissioned us to go and make disciples and baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,” Deevers said. “And that means that we are his human agents for extending his dominion, his rule throughout this world, and the nations will be glad through that. So to say that the church and the state are separate in the principle of their authority—and the principle being Jesus Christ—is, I believe, it’s blasphemous to say that Jesus Christ isn’t Lord of Lords and King of Kings. And that means not just over the home, not just over the church, but in every sphere; and that is to belittle the Lord Jesus and he doesn’t take it kindly when we belittle him.”

Dusty Deevers is an embarrassment to Oklahoma. He would would rather turn America into Iran than actually live in a free society. That in itself should be a disqualifier from public office.

  2. American historian here.

Your Constitution would like you to know it was written specifically so that fanatical asshats like Dusty Deevers can never have control of the levers of American government.

Madison intended to protect Americans from the 1500 years of tyranny the Church and Christian rule inflicted on Europe.

    Stay in school, kids.

    Don’t be a Deevers.

  3. Dusty might I suggest Iran they don’t separate the two there

  4. Fuck you and your religion.

*-this statement brought to you by the First Amendment*

  5. This’ the logic they’ll use to convince christian nationalists to support trump’s fascist takeover of the government.

  6. “Blasphemy” is not a relevant term in civics, government, or economics. Separation of church and state was engineered specifically so that we didn’t have to care about what was blasphemous with regards to governing a nation.

  7. “Dusty Deevers” sounds like the name of a child molester.

  8. Dusty fully approves of “marrying” 12 year olds. Just like his Orange God.

  9. So in his own statement he proves that they are incapable of separating their religion from their view of governing. Since most people don’t follow his religion, he expects us to accept his views on separation – Thus proving why separation of his church and any religion from a government is necessary.

Oh and he supports a guy who violates every precept of his religion – once again proving they practice infidelity of the mind.

  10. Dusty Deevers is a porn alias, and you can’t convince me otherwise.

  11. The cognitive dissonance and hypocrisy of the “religious right” is absolutely appalling

The leaders they support and nearly everything they stand for directly contradicts the teachings of Jesus Christ

These “Christians” are inherently un-Christian in almost every way

Conservative Christians prioritize power over principles. They align with political figures and ideologies that contradict Jesus teachings of meekness and service.

They treat the poor and marginalized like vermin

They preach bigotry and hatred towards outsiders, foreigners and strangers

They merge their politics and religion to advance policies that worsen inequality and systemic injustices, that take from the poor to give to the rich, that devalue diversity and exploit the underprivileged, that scapegoat vulnerable groups, stigmatize immigrants and refugees, and that aim to promote racial, ethnic, social, and cultural hierarchy.

They oppose social welfare, safety nets and opportunities for the disadvantaged and the expansion of healthcare.

But Jesus persistently advocating for the poor, the outcasts, the foreigner, the needy, the sick.

They emphasize punishment over forgiveness. They openly support the government’s weaponization of the justice system for the purpose of political vengeance.

They support militarizing domestic policy and federalizing the military and police as a means of oppression.

Their “law and order” rhetoric is riddled with dog whistles that intend to incite hostilities towards minorities, immigrants and marginalized groups.

Their harsh stances on criminal justice, capital punishment, and their disregard for due process and rights for immigrants and out-groups contradict messages of tolerance, forgiveness, love, redemption, compassion.

Their morality is selective. They constantly overlook ethical and moral concerns; they ignore corruption, greed, environmental degradation, and systemic injustices while vilifying groups that exist outside of their white Christian hegemony and those who don’t strictly adhere to their culture of heteronormativity.

Their support for Donald Trump takes the form of idol worship, and they devote themselves to a petulant man who represents the antithesis of Christianity and its basic principles.

Trump has lived a life of fraud and adultery. He is a conman and a cheater in more ways than one. He has been implicated in countless crimes and corrupt scandals. He has a long, perverse history of sexual abuse. He is a petty and vindictive man. He is a demagogue who feeds off of fear and loathing. He relies on the use of inflammatory speech and divisive rhetoric to incite violence and hatred towards his enemies.

Donald Trump may as well be the anti-christ.

He’s a pathological liar and narcissist—a self serving hypocrite and greed-monger.

He embodies the opposite of humility, honesty, fidelity, compassion, austerity.

As a whole, Trump and his followers defy the very idea of “love your enemies” and “turn the other cheek.”

They don’t just despise their perceived enemies, their entire political and religious identity is founded on hate, anger, mockery, antagonism, entitlement, superiority, combativeness, contrarianism etc…

Truth is central to Christian ethics, but Donald Trump and his supporters are documented liars—they have no commitment to the truth. They lack wits and behave as if truth is subjective.

Trump’s followers implicitly trust the words of a firebrand and false idol and they promote false narratives, myths, rumors and conspiracy theories.

They blend their Christian identity and ethos with American nationalism. This is idolatrous and undemocratic.

They distort scripture and misinterpret and cherry pick the gospel however they see fit.

Christian Nationalism is a blight on this country, it is evil, it is impious.

Jesus turned the tables on the Donald Trump’s of the world, but they welcome these rich, corrupt kleptocrats and modern day robber barons with open arms.

Their party’s platform is inextricably linked to their religious dogma. A party that largely appeals to white supremacists, neo-nazis, hate groups and their many grievances.

They are a living, breathing contradiction, they epitomize everything a Christian ought not to be, they are un-Christians.

  12. Yeah no shit dumbass which proves the USA isn’t founded as a Christian nation because the ideals it was founded on at the time would have been considered blasphemous in Christianity. Hence, why the founders were considered radicals. They invented separation of church and state. Fuck these UnAmerican treasonous revisionist Christian Nationalists.

  13. Sounds like Dusty Deevers hates the United States of America. He should leave.

  14. I’m so over Christians, they cause trouble wherever they’ve gone in this world. 99.9% are absolute hypocritical weirdos. I wish they’d fuck off to some designated area where they can live their weird lifestyle and leave the rest of the world alone.

  15. I am convinced most Americans actually have never actually read the constitution

  16. First of all, no it isn’t. That is ludicrous.

Second of all, Dusty, go fuck yourself.

  17. Is seems that for a goodly number of christians, christianity has little to do anymore with the teachings of christ.

  18. Even if you’re a Christian who wants a theocracy, WHAT CHURCH????? WHICH ONE?!?!

My family are dedicated Christians and they apparently can’t agree on a single GODDAMN THING when it comes to their churches, their religion and their worship.

Seemingly the only thing they have in common is that they voted for the end of our democracy in favor of what they think is best for them, leaving everyone else out..

    You know, *real* Christians.

  19. Well I don’t personally give a shit what you find blasphemous Mr Deevers and neither does the constitution.

  20. Dusty Deevers sounds like a porn star name. Just sayin’
