  1. Typical Reform they’re more interested in the grift than in actually being good constituency MPs. Yet people still see them as serious politicians. They’re all a bunch of chancers.

  2. A reform sheep – “Ah but we like them so this is fine. No issue here”.

  3. Nigel Mirage: always vanishing when it comes to real policies and work, always reappearing when there’s a camera

  4. 🤷‍♂️ Corbyn is a multimillionaire. Christ you act like they’re not all getting money (unions donors etc) or insider privileges to make them very rich over their relative wage. Expenses alone is a fraud on massive scale.

Come back when they’re not all at it.

  5. We dont want successful business entrepreneurs to govern our country?

This is such a dumb take.

  6. Hey, remember when starmer got gifts and the country fell into crisis?

I wonder if the right wing press will be concerned when it’s reform.

  7. I’m done. I’ve had enough people on here telling me I am wrong, and that Reform will save us from ourselves like Farage is the second coming of Christ (third if they are counting Trump).

I don’t care anymore, I can afford private healthcare, I already have a house, and a reasonable paid job.

Everyone clearly wants a world where the few rich stay rich, and the poor go back to slave work on a farm. This is what they want, then fine, knock yourselves out…

In fact I might just join Reform, so instead of being upset that you lot are starving on the streets, I can cheer myself up by spending your money, and you’ll thank me for it

  8. The old migrant grift pays off well, one wonders if they’re actually behind the small boats themselves

  9. I’m not generally in favour of very strict “MPs shouldn’t have any outside income” rules, but there needs to be some level of restriction. I definitely don’t think it should be allowed for them to be directors of companies while still an MP. I’d also be tempted to say that any income above the level of an MPs salary¹ goes into a trust which is paid when they leave parliament and taxed as capital gains at that point (since they get a form of parachute payment anyway).

¹by which I mean they could earn the same again as their salary, so if the salary is 90k then they can earn 90k in outside earnings without it being garnished

  10. This is partly the reason I’ve no problem with MPs being paid a bit more and restricted on their extra-curricular activities.

We really need to stop MPs being the part time job you do to help you coin it in with your main one.

  11. Seeing them climb up in the opinion polls, the UK deserves them. I’ll be divesting from the Uk before they get in. They just aren’t serious people

  12. Don’t worry. Apparently, this sort of thing is irrelevant to voters according to Richard Tice. The public do not need to know that Reform are the same the politicians they revel in criticising for doing exactly this. Reform are the same as every other party, just in a sky-blue tie, they still do not care about doing what is best for the general public.

  13. Nothing new here and this is all MP’s not just Reform.

Ironically the reform i would support would be a ban on gifts and limits on second jobs. No more 300k a year to work an hour a week “consulting” make it all public record, who they are working for and what they are doing and if they’re found to be breaking the rules no slaps on the wrist. If they can’t follow the law they don’t get to sit in parliment.

I suspect it’d do wonders for the quality of our so called leaders which is why it’ll never happen.

  14. It’s like the old joke that politicians should have to have their sponsors and financial interests sewn onto their suits like F1 drivers. Doesn’t matter which party it is, MPs and ministers will take those perks every time. It’s the greed of human nature.

I’d actually be in favour of those in public office being paid an industrial wage and living in a three bed semi. You know, like many of those who they represent. No gifts, no significant second income. If that doesn’t suit them, office isn’t for them and they can go to the private sector. It should be a sacrifice, not an enrichment vessel.

Look how many leave office to get a 6/7 figure salary that they’re clearly not qualified for due to greasing a few palms on the way up.

  15. It’s rank hypocrisy that their supporters couldn’t care less about

  16. Isn’t it about time we limit MPs second jobs?

I appreciate some people like Drs or Nurses etc will need to do some work to keep qualifications current, and I think roles like that help as MPs know what’s going on on the front lines.

I don’t think they should be allowed to be on boards of companies, directors, advisers etc.

And we should certainly be tightening up what they can get as donations etc.

Pay them more, but stop them being able to claim loads of stuff.

  17. It’s great that some of the media have been loud about holding Reform and Farage to account lately, I hope they keep the momentum up. Stories like this will slowly but surely erode trust in Reform, just like they did in his former Brexit party, and before that UKIP. He can never keep his grift going long precisely because of things like this. It also helps to harden support against him, which is even more valuable in the long run.

  18. The disrespect for the will of the people and the entrepreneurial spirit that this country so dearly needs to help it recover is absolutely disgusting.

  19. Did I read that right? In total, all MPs have taken in less than £5m in total, with majority going to Farage, around £800k. £5m split amongst 650 MPs is pretty minor. Is there an issue here?
