Brings back memories 🥲
Hard to resist!

New to UK. That looks delicious — what’s it called?
Jeez this just unlocked a long lost memory
I’m going to need to get my glasses for this one
How do you know?
Honestly can’t remember what it tasted like as it’s been so long, but know I loved it!
Do you remember pink custard?
There’s nothing wrong with that and anyone who says otherwise is doing it for the likes. That’s a cracking school staple and I’d eat it right now
Cooplands do 4 packs. Just scranned two with custard today literally
I’ve never seen the appeal. It’s very plain and bland, plus I don’t like icing.
Cooplands sell them in pack of 4
I love those cakes
I used to hang about for leftovers, lovely dinner ladies
Does it still cost 50p?
used to love these at school dinners lol
Wow. That takes me back.
I was craving this yesterday. Love it
BGS school cake?
The school I went to did those after hating the biscuits as it’s all they did for Friday so I petitioned to get it changed, I actually refused the biscuits and ate Thursday’s dessert instead which there is a lot of variety of instead of the same bloody biscuit
They have them in Home Bargains too.

Wow
I’m absolutely chuffed for you, finally some good news!!!!
I’m in my 30s and I can still picture the taste and texture from this photo. Classic
£2 for a pack of four slices in Sainsbury’s rn btw
not going to lie, i loved this stuff when i was a kid. Personally i preferred the cornflake tart or the apple crumble.
Niiiice. I made banana custard, the other day as I’d not had it in decades!
No pixels
I could demolish one right now
Does anyone remember a pudding that was basically a coco pops square thing, but it was really dense and compacted? Only way I can think to describe it.
I’ve been trying to find something similar for ages.
Get ’em to join the Navy, we get “generic sponge pudding with custard” atleast 3 x a week at sea!
School cake was the most elite pudding. Gypsy tart a close second. Hated coco pops in a cupcake wrapper
Lidl have squares of school cake like that in their bakery right now.
I must’ve had a deprived childhood, because I’ve never had this. I mean, I’m pretty sure I’ve had that cake at fêtes or village fairs, but not with custard.
I’ve clearly missed out on a slice of British culture. And a slice of cake, obviously.
This and cherry pie with custard are my top tier primary school desserts.
Was the best when it was your year group’s day for seconds
I made one once out of pure nostalgia, and didn’t realise just how much sugar was in it, and that’s without the custard lol. These are a gateway to an unhealthy sugar addiction for sure.
It was as delicious as I remembered, but I probably won’t make it again.
