Something seems off about this picture, almost like it’s colorized. But I don’t think it is.
The men’s faces look incredibly pale as well as dirty. It’s like they work deep underground in the mines all day, not at all like they work outside in a tropical country.
Perhaps a flash was used and that removes all the life from the people’s faces? Looking at the harsh shadow of the second soldier from the right cast on the face of the girl in blue, I think that must be it.
You cannot post this without context. These are not some casual soldiers in a bar. The Netherlands spent half a century covering up the appalling war crimes committed by Dutch soldiers during the ‘Politionele acties’ that took place exactly when this picture is dated.
