I was just watching this [video.](https://youtu.be/ZLZ0hZ8fn8s) (Don’t worry, I am not confusing Swedish and Swiss. It is the concept of good local food that got me thinking.)

And I was thinking, I’ve had a few good dining experiences since I came to Stockholm, but I have also had a lot of really normie experiences from pizza to sushi. I want to have more experiences that are either authentically Swedish, uniquely Swedish, or at least unique to Stockholm (even if it’s something modern or fusion or whatever).

Any recommendations?

  1. Stockholm is a graveyard when it comes to street food unfortunately. With that said, *tunnbrödsrulle* is pretty unique for Stockholm. They have them in most of the kiosks, like Sibylla, I think

  2. My favorites, but it’s been a few years since I lived there so things might’ve changed.

    Swedish meatballs & Toast Skagen:

    Nybrogatan 38

    Riche

    Restaurant Bakfickan

    Asian:

    Arirang (their bibimbap)

    Thai House Wok (Nybrogatan)

    Yume Sushi

    Indian Stories

    Miss Voon (hummer tacos)

    Fang Yuan Shi Wu (dumplings)

    Blue Light Yokohama (ramen)

    American:

American Taste Away (their Texas sub)

    Phil’s Burger

    Pizza:

    dell Attore

    Birkastan Pizzeria (busola)

    Pasta:

    Mancini

    Middle Eastern:

    Tabbouli

    Saaghi Grill

    Vegan:

    Chutney

  3. For the best pizza in all of Stockholm, visit Magari. If you’re there around closing on a Friday/Saturday it’s basically like being in Italy. Not a soul speaks Swedish, it’s Italian all over the place.

Maybe not Stockholm local, but authentic in another way I suppose. It’s quite unique compared to a lot of other stuff, it’s new enough that word haven’t really spread yet. Their google rating is literally crazy.
