8 September 2025 – Low-cost airline easyJet will discontinue four of its Croatian routes, with Zadar and Dubrovnik the most affected, exyuaviation.com has reported.
The carrier will not resume its seasonal services from Zadar to Milan Malpensa, Berlin and Lyon, while flights from Dubrovnik to Berlin will also be cut.
In total, the decision accounts for eleven weekly flights and reduces easyJet’s seat capacity on the Croatian market by almost 4,000 per week.
This summer, the airline was in direct competition with Ryanair on the Berlin connections to both Zadar and Dubrovnik.
Despite the cuts, easyJet remains one of the country’s largest operators. In 2023, the airline offered 1.44 million seats in Croatia, ranking as the third-biggest carrier after Ryanair and Croatia Airlines.
However, this figure marks a 3.8% decline compared to last year.
Before the pandemic, in 2019, easyJet was the second-largest airline in Croatia, behind only Croatia Airlines.
Since then, its overall capacity has grown only modestly, rising from 1.42 million seats six years ago. In contrast, Ryanair has expanded rapidly, particularly in Zadar and Zagreb, where it has established year-round operations and deeper bases.
easyJet continues to hold a strong presence along the Adriatic coast. Based on current capacity, it is the second-largest carrier in both Split and Pula, the third in Dubrovnik, and the fourth in Zadar.
The latest reductions underline the shifting dynamics in Croatia’s aviation sector, as airlines adjust strategies in response to rising competition and changing travel patterns.
