  10. As an Orthodox Bulgarian I find this repulsive. How can we be closer to God if we don’t respect the beliefs and values of others? One of my favourite movies of all time is Kingdom of Heaven and I recommend it for anyone who wants to see how different religions can respect each other or be driven to polar opposites.

  12. Most of the Bulgarian Turks were forcefully relocated to Rumelia, as they had resisted and revolted against the Ottomans in Central Anatolia.

    Nonetheless, far-right groups in both Bulgaria and Turkey have been spreading misinformation, portraying these people as if they had conquered Rumelia. In reality, the Karamanid Turks were oppressed under the Ottomans, no differently than the Bulgarians.

    Just don’t fall for the far-right propaganda.

  15. Some forcefully, some for tax incentives, some for privileges etc. we cannot use blanket reasons for their conversion. However you are right that some indeed were forced into it.

  25. Lol, everybody talking about the turkish people. This is not against the turks, we have no problems with them and the turks are fully integrated in the society.

    This is against the immigrants who hang around the mosque all day.

    Big groups of young 25-30 yo arabs, sitting on the benches behind the mosque or straight up laying on the ground. They are there every day, at every hour. Usually eating doners. Women are afraid to walk past them and the mosque is in the center of the city. If you pass by them, they stare. And they stare a lot, like they havent seen a woman in their lifes. Then they start acting like total creeps. Ive experienced this so many times exactly there.

    And dont get me wrong, Im not some far right nazi like the one who wrote that, but I cant be hypocritical either as I’ve been feeling super uncomfortable every time I have work around the mosque.

    The problem is very serious. Its a pendulum and everybody knows it. The more they behave like that, the more the far right will be rising. The more they become, the more nazis we will see. And its obvious they have become more the last year. Which btw is only pumping the “you see?” propaganda for the anti eu parties, who swore if we enter Schengen zone we will see more immigrants. We actually do, at least in Sofia.
