Prince Harry is back in his home country, and it’s reportedly making him feel nostalgic. Royal insiders dished that he is “hoping” to bring his kids Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, with wife Meghan Markle, to the UK one day soon.
The Duke of Sussex is visiting his home country for the longest time since his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s death three years ago. This morning, the third anniversary of the Queen’s death, Prince Harry laid a wreath on her grave at the King George VI Memorial Chapel in Windsor, per CNN. He’s also planning on attending the WellChild charity awards on Monday, visiting the Community Recording Studio on Tuesday, and more. Markle and the kids stayed home in California during Harry’s whirlwind trip, but they may not stay away forever.

“He has always been very clear about his desire to show his family, his children, the country he has loved and served his entire life,” a source told Hello! “He has also been very clear that like any husband and father, his family will always come first. While security issues remain — and until such time as they are resolved to a point where he feels they would be safe and protected — he will not expose them to such risk. This is, I am sure, a sentiment many could relate to.”
Emily Nash, royal editor of Hello! agreed that Prince Harry is just waiting on security for his family in order to visit, a request that was denied by the Home Office. “Prince Harry has made no secret of the fact that he wants to bring his family to the UK and for them to get to know his home country, which is why he pursued legal action over his security situation,” Nash said. “He may have lost that case, but he is clearly still hoping to find a way to bring Archie and Lilibet back in future and for them to have a relationship with his father.”
Markle was last in the UK at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in Sept. 2022, and the kids haven’t visited since the late Queen’s platinum jubilee in June 2022. Prince Harry has visited home a few times since then, including after his dad, King Charles III, was diagnosed with cancer, and in April 2025, to challenge the British government’s decision to downgrade his family’s security.
In June, The Guardian reported, “Prince Harry wants to keep the HRH [His/Her Royal Highness] titles for his children so that when they grow older they can decide for themselves whether they want to become working royals, or stay out of public life.”
The Sussexes struggled to get official UK passports for their kids. “There was clear reluctance to issue passports for the kids,” a source told The Guardian. “The king hadn’t wanted Archie and Lili to carry the titles, most of all the HRH, and the British passports, once created, would be the first and perhaps the only legal proof of their names.”
They now have the passports, making it one step closer to visiting (or potentially moving!) to the UK one day. Only time will tell!
After all, Harry himself has shared how important it is for his kids to be able to visit the UK. In a previous statement to court, Harry said, “The UK is my home. The UK is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home as much as where they live at the moment in the United States. That cannot happen if there is no possibility to keep them safe when they are on UK soil.”
