Butler-based First Environment, Inc., a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, announced the appointment of Devin DeMarco, market area director of government services, to vice president of business development. In this new role, DeMarco will oversee the company’s strategic growth objectives, expand market presence regionally and nationally, further teaming relationships, and pursue contract opportunities that foster long-term financial strength.

DeMarco joined First Environment in 2008 and has more than 25 years’ experience in broad-scope environmental consulting serving commercial/industrial clients and all levels of government. During his tenure with the firm, he has managed multiple practice areas covering a broad array of services, expanded technical service offerings, and spearheaded the development of teaming relationships and joint ventures that have proven key to highervalue contract award and successful execution. Notably, for the past seven years, he has served as program manager for the company’s prime environmental consulting services contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) – New York District, supporting the District’s civil works mission and military environmental programs throughout the MidAtlantic states.

“Over the past 15 years, Devin has consistently demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic vision, and an exceptional ability to ensure the firm consistently meets technical delivery and revenue-based performance goals,” said Tod Delaney, founder and president of First Environment. “His diverse technical and industry expertise, collaborative relationships with private and public partners, and keen business acumen position him to successfully meet First Environment’s strategic growth objectives. We welcome him in this new role and look forward to him supporting the company in an even greater capacity.”

DeMarco is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), past president of the SAME New Jersey Chapter, and member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), where he currently serves as a USACE committee member of the ACEC New York Chapter.

He earned a Master of Science in environmental policy studies from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in environmental science from The University of Scranton.
