  5. It starts in Newcastle, goes through Gateshead and ends in South Shields. I assume they’re wanting to highlight those points all the while trying their best to keep it looking nice on a round medal with limited space.

    And above all that, it’s a medal. Not an ordnance Survey Map. No need for it to be accurate. Just looks nice, init.

    I dont have any issues with the Wearsiders, but I just think those kind of shirts are funny, like ‘Birds aren’t real’, ‘The sea isnt real’, and I saw a great one recently that was ‘Clacton-on-sea is a hoax’

  9. Given the ring road is literally the design for Brasilia’s and they councilors pocketed the money it’s probably not the worst attempt at mapping the city.

  14. It looks like they took the river outline and filled the rest with a generic road pattern. Do I have it right? Is there anything more to this, is the map copied from a specific other city?

  17. It looks like the Great South Run medal (2025) has a map of Southsea on one side of it.

    If it had Southampton on by mistake (or because of an evil troll) it could start a war down here.

    The Newcastle area is not having much luck these days. Isak, last minute winners by 16 year olds and now this.

  19. That’s definitely the Wear rather than the Tyne. This was either a monumental cockup or a world class troll.

  21. Yeah but that’s the backside the front shows the Tyne Bridge but minus towers so it looks a little bit like the wearmouth bridge.
